Cricketer Virender Sehwag of late is busy with the twitter. He is also scoring all beowny points with his tweets. His tweets to the British journalist kept him red faced while our hear enjoyed the Indian following.
Sehwag hit out this time at all those who are justifying that poverty leads people to take up arms. We heard many Indian journalists support the terrorist says that the poverty and downtroddenness has forced them to take up arms.
Sehwag had a right tweet to shut the mouths by tweeting:
“Saroja, mother of Mariappan is a vegetable seller, it’s a slap on people giving excuses of family condition for picking up gun”
Saroja is the mother of Matiappan Tangavelu who won the gold for men’s high jumping event in the Rio Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro. The event saw another bright light for Inida as Varun Singh Bhati also won the Bronze Medal for the same event.
Tangavelu lost his leg when a bus ran over his leg when he was only 5 years of age.
It is said that Tangavlu’s father abandoned the family and he and his for other siblings were raised by his mother. Soraja worked as a labourer before becoming a vegetable vendor. It was her undying spirit and faith in her son that he has bagged a Gold Medal today.
To everyone who say that poverty paved way for them to get to terrorism, Tangavelu and Saroja has a different story to tell.
We salute the heroes who made us Indians proud!
