Many of us at some point or the other would have recorded our self either singing or talking and heard the record only to realize that we sound so different! Well I should admit that I sound like a kid, but when I answer the phone there were instances where people thought it was a young lad. It felt so depressing but on the other hand it made me wonder.
After some research with the sounds we came up with something interesting! The person who hears your voice actually hears exactly the way it sounds. They don’t hear anything funny or different. It actually “you” that hears things differently.
The sound waves pass not only through the ear canals but also through the skull bones, so it gets muffled, thus sounding in a lower pitch that the normal, when you listen yourself speak.
It also depends on one’s self esteem. Some people love their voice when they hear it but some don’t like the way it sounds. This goes with the same aspect of liking some pictures and disliking some others when they are uploaded on Facebook.
Mostly the problem can be corrected. You only have to learn to accept your voice and accept it and see how awesome you sound!
